As climate change causes environmental problems and energy sources decline, there are international efforts to develop, store, and utilize new sources of energy. With this trend, energy-related field becomes one of the core industries fully supported by the government.

The Department of Energy Engineering offers courses in energy production, storage, conversion, and system, which are energy-related areas cthat are forecasted to have higher demands in Korea and abroad.
-In detail, students learn about solar cells, fuel cells, and biomass from plant sources, as well as secondary battery and super capacitors, used for the main power source of electric vehicles.
-In addition, the program offers knowledge on energy transitions including thermo element, piezoelectric element, and magnetic energy, as well as lighter energy reducing materials and waste energy sources.
