Paik Hospital, the root of Inje University, is Korea’s first private hospital with an 85-year history. Based on the establishment of Paik Inje Surgical Clinic in 1932 by Dr. Inje Paik, a pioneering leader of Korean modern medicine, Paik Hospital, the first civilian nonprofit organization in Korea, opened in 1946 with the vision, “Save the World with the Art of Medicine.” Currently, it includes four hospitals (Busan Paik Hospital, Sanggye Paik Hospital, Ilsan Paik Hospital, and Haeundae Paik Hospital), which have a total of 3,600 sickbeds and treat 4.4 million patients (inpatients and outpatients) a year.
Paik Hospital, which is equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment and medical systems, excellent medical personnel, and Patient First administration, offers the best medical services, and has achieved great results in medical treatment, research, and education. Paik Hospital also carries out a variety of volunteer activities in remote areas in and out the country, where medical services were not available.
