In response to environmental pollution and climate change severely threatening the survival of humanity, construction, management, and restoration of sustainable cities and industrial infrastructure is required. To meet such demands, the Department Civil and Urban Engineering sets out to expand competitiveness of national and urban territories and develop technologies for the optimal supply of infrastructure crucial to enhancing residents’ quality of life. In addition, the department researches how to achieve harmony between the supplied infrastructure and the natural environment. From water resources, atmosphere, ground, ecology, environmental chemistry, and marine ecology that make up the features of environment crucial to the survival of humanity, to organized use of artificial structures, waterworks system, and adaptation to climate change, the department deals with general and deeper knowledge on building sustainable smart cities. In order to achieve this end, the department compounds academic knowledge for building, managing, and restoring sustainable urban and industrial infrastructure and practical skills in civil and urban engineering and environmental engineering.

Civil Engineering Major
The history of human civilization coursed through with the development of the construction technologies. Sustainable development and IT-based construction for the conservation of the natural environment has become an important national goals in recent years. Civil engineering students learn to plan, design, construct, and maintain various urban infrastructure facilities including bridges, marine ports, tunnels, dams, and rivers as well as plant facilities such as nuclear power plants. The students learn to become creative and future-oriented construction engineers.

Urban Engineering Major
Cities are the place of residence for most people living on this planet, but these are threatened due to severe changes in living environments that are becoming more complex. Therefore, the sustained prosperity of humanity depends on the practical study of urban spaces and creative implementation of our knowledge. The urban engineering program train talents for the local community to utilize spaces in creative manners and solve urban traffic and environmental problems that are caused by globalization and urbanization in the era of climate change and environmental crises.
