The Department of Early Childhood Education seeks to research the theory and practice of early childhood education based on the knowledge of children’s development and its characteristics. Furthermore, the department aims to train creative teachers and professionals who can instruct children, including those with and without maladaptation issues and disabilities.
The department was first founded as the Department of Children in 1988, and was changed to the Department of Early Childhood Education in 2003. With continued exchange with the early childhood education program offered by the Graduate School of Education founded in 1996, the department offers more professional and deeper opportunities to acquire knowledge.
