As climate change causes environmental problems and energy sources decline, there is an international effort to develop, store, and utilize new sources of energy. With this trend, the government is focusing on growing energy-related industries.

The Department of Energy Engineering offers instruction in energy production, storage, conversion, and system, which are energy-related areas that are forecasted to have higher demands in Korea and abroad.
-In detail, students learn about solar cells, fuel cells, and biomass from plant sources, as well as secondary battery and super capacitors, used for the main power source of electric vehicles.
-In addition, the program offers knowledge on energy transitions including thermo element, piezoelectric element, and magnetic energy, as well as lighter energy reducing materials and waste energy sources.
