From the 13th to the 17th, Inje University’s Korean Language and Culture Education Center hosted a Taekwondo experience event for approximately 620 international language program students. This event provided students with an opportunity to engage firsthand with Korean culture through the traditional martial art of Taekwondo, fostering cultural exchange and connection.
The event kicked off with an electrifying performance by a Taekwondo demonstration team, captivating the audience with dynamic movements. Students then learned basic Taekwondo stances, punches, and kicks, experiencing the philosophy and energy embedded in each motion. One of the most exciting moments was the board-breaking challenge and a Taekwondo performance synchronized to K-pop music, which thrilled participants and fully immersed them in the experience.
Farhan from Bangladesh shared, “This was my first encounter with Taekwondo, and I realized it’s not just a martial art—it’s a way to build inner strength.” Alisa from Russia added, “Practicing Taekwondo while laughing and learning with friends made me fall in love with it. This is a memory I will cherish forever.”
Beyond simply learning a traditional practice, this event became a platform for cultural connection, where students from different backgrounds came together through movement and shared enthusiasm. The energy and camaraderie fostered through Taekwondo left international students with an unforgettable experience on their journey of learning about Korea.
